If you are looking for a hard shell roof top tent that is extremely durable then the Eezi-Awn Blade Hard Shell Roof Top Tent is perfect for you.

Today, we will review Eezi-Awn Blade in-depth to understand why it is so popular among the overlanding community.

Compact and Spacious

One of the biggest problems with roof top tents is that they are bad for the MPG of your vehicle as they are so huge.

However, as Eezi-Awn Blade features a compact design -- There is little to no effect on the MPG of your vehicle. It's also very small in size when compared to other RTTs on the market today.

Also, Blade is spacious enough for 2 people to sleep in. You can sleep 3 people but it will be not so comfortable.

Durable Body Construction

Blade Hard Shell Roof Top Tent

One thing that separates Eezi-Awn Blade from its competitors is its body construction.

It features a lightweight aluminum body that is powder-coated matte black and the body fabric is made with a strong 260-gram teflon-coated polyester ripstop material. Also, Blade features stainless steel hardware throughout the tent.

All that combined makes Eezi-Awn Blade one of the toughest and the most durable hard shell roof top tents on the market today. Plus, Its body is designed to handle any kind of rough weather conditions.

Built-in Mattress

I am not sure about you but I have never really enjoyed sleeping in a sleeping bag. They are super expensive to start with and cheap ones are of bad quality.

To save you some money from investing in expensive sleeping bags -- Eezi-Awn Blade comes with a built-in premium double size 3" thick laminated mattress. It is very comfortable to sleep on.

Plus, to keep you warm and cozy during cold winter nights, both the roof and floor of the tent are completely insulated.

270-Degree View

Blade privacy mesh panels

One really cool thing about the Blade is -- when all the windows/doors are zipped open completely, It creates an amazing 270 degree outward view.

Also, All the windows in the Blade come with privacy mesh panels (shown in the picture) and are made with breathable material to make sure there is full ventilation inside the tent at all times.

Lots of Storage Space

Because of Blade's unique aerodynamic design, You can store all your bedding, blankets, pillows, etc inside the tent even when it's completely closed.

Aside from that, Blade also includes internal storage pockets on all windows. It is perfect for keeping all your essentials within your hands reach.

Extendable Ladder

To make it easy for you to get in and out of your tent, Blade comes with a patented anodized aluminum ladder. It is also completely extendable -- so no matter what your car height is, it will fit perfectly.

Easy to Mount it on Roof Racks

Mounting roof top tents on roof racks is not the easiest of jobs. It takes time and a lot of effort.

So to make the process easy for you, Blade comes with 4 mounting rails on the bottom of the tent and a four-point DIY mounting hardware set.

With these 2 tools by your side, Mounting Blade on your roof rack is a complete breeze.

Durable Zippers

When it comes to tents, zippers are almost always the first thing to break and it's really a pain-in-the-ass to replace them.

To make sure that doesn't happen to you, Blade comes with durable YKK© Zippers. These are the best zippers in the market today and are known to last for a lifetime (YKK© Zippers are used by top brands like Gucci etc).

Extremely Fast Setup

Everybody loves camping but nobody likes setting up their tent. It takes forever and not very easy to do it.

However, with Blade -- you never have to worry about that at all. It comes with an automated setup & takedown feature which lets you set it up and take it down in under 15-30 seconds. Also, you can do it all on your own. No heel needed

LED Light

To make it easy for you to light up the tent at night, Blade comes with a National Luna LED Light on the interior roof of the tent.

A 12V Power Supply Socket with a supply cord is also included to connect the light.

Rear Rainfly

Nobody likes leaky tents! It's the worst feeling when your tent starts leaking water when it's raining heavily.

So to avoid such disasters, Blade comes with a rainfly to protect from elements and keep the water out during heavy rainfall.

The rainfly also includes Spring Steel Rods to keep them from flapping and making noise if when camping in a windy location

A quick summary of the features:
