Gigatent uses materials that are more durable and last longer than most manufacturers'. The tent fabrics are heavier coated, with an even thicker coating on the rainflys. This makes Gigatent’s fabrics more waterproof than other manufacturer’s products. The Twin Track zippers used in most tents slide easier and last longer.

How thick is your tents' coating?
Most manufacturers use a 450mm to 600mm coating on their tents and rainflys. Gigatent uses an 800mm to 1200mm coating on their rainflys, because the force generated by a storm is greatest on the rainfly. They use a 600mm to 800mm coating on their tent bodies where the force is less direct and weaker.

Why is a heavy coating important?
The coating on fabrics is measured in millimeters. This measurement refers to the height of a column of water that the fabric will support without it coming through. The thinner the coating the less pressure needed to push water through. Therefore, a thicker coating will prevent rain more effectively from entering your tent.

What are the benefits of a Twin Track zipper?
The door zipper design used most in Gigatent's products is known as a Twin Track zipper which means that there are 2 zippers for the door, a horizontal zipper and a slightly curving vertical zipper. The Twin Track design minimizes the curve to the vertical zipper which can cause the zipper to fail sooner than a straight one. Therefore, a Twin Track zipper is less likely to fail. It also allows for a larger and easier to enter doorway. Gigatent's Twin Track zippers are larger in size than most other manufacturers’, and the nickel plated zipper sliders on their tents slide easier and last longer.

Which kind of poles do you use?
Gigatent uses 19mm steel poles for most of their large family tents. The poles are cable corded together instead of chain corded to reduce the possibility of breakage. In most of their products, they use larger diameter poles and shockcord than other manufacturers. Their backpacking models use a 7000 series aircraft aluminum which resists cold and cracking unlike fiberglass. Aluminum poles are also lighter than fiberglass poles.

Are your family tents really big enough for a whole family?
Gigatents’ family tents are specifically designed to give the user the most interior volume possible. By using a combination of steel and fiberglass poles they have combined the straight walls of the cabin tent with the free standing nature of the dome tent to give the camper the best of both tent designs. Some family tents offer additional comfort with a Combo Room.

What is a Combo Room and why would I want to have one?
Gigatents’ Combo Room allows for more versatility in one tent. The camper can now own a screen house and a tent in one package. You can store luggage or wet gear in the Combo Room without endangering the sleeping area. The Combo Room will also accept the extra campers that won’t fit in the rear room.

Are your tents easy to set up?
Yes. The free standing nature of most of Gigatent's family tents makes them easier to position in a campsite and requires less staking which means less time during setup. Even the large tents require only very few people and little time to set up.

Shipping Rates, Couriers and Policies

Where do you ship to?
At present, we ship only to the 48 contiguous states of the US, Alaska and Hawaii. We currently do notship to P.O. boxes.

How long will my order take to arrive?
We have the items shipped to you directly from the manufacturer in Wayne, NJ. Usually, we ship within 2 days. Delivery time varies depending on your location; you can expect your order within 1-6 days from shipment.

How soon do you ship my order?
We usually ship within 1-3 business days after receiving payment, Monday through Friday. Should shipment be delayed for any reason, we will inform you.
In case of your shipping address being different from your billing address, we reserve the right to contact you and ask for confirmation of your shipping address. This is a safety measure to protect you and ourselves from fraud (e.g. somebody else using your PayPal account details without your permission to make a purchase). We will then ship your order within 1-3 days after receiving your confirmation.

Which courier services do you use?
We ship via UPS Ground. Expedited rush is available at an extra cost.

How much do you charge for shipping?
We charge the normal UPS rates. Our built-in shipping calculator will automatically calculate the UPS rate for your order. Please make sure to select "UPS Ground" as your shipping method.

How can I track my order?
We will send you shipping confirmation and your order's tracking information via email. When you have not received your order after 7 working days, please contact UPS with this tracking ID to enquire where your order is.
Please note that it can take up to 2 days for us to receive your shipping confirmation and tracking information from Gigatent. If you do not get this information right away, this does not mean your order has not yet been shipped. However, if you have not received it after 3 days, please contact us at customerservice@familytentsworld.com.

Do you charge sales tax?
As an out-of-State seller, we are not authorized to collect New Jersey sales tax. However, if you live in New Jersey, your purchase plus shipping is due to 7% use tax. You can pay use tax when filing your New Jersey Resident Income Tax Return, or complete a Use Tax Remittance. For more information about use tax, please click here.
Please note: If you live in another US state, your order may be subject to your state’s use tax. Use tax will notbe collected by us. It is your responsibility to pay it as required.

Can I cancel an order?
Yes. All orders may be cancelled with no additional fee if the item has not yet been shipped. Please note that cancellations must be made via email to customerservice@familytentsworld.com. Please make sure to include your name, date of order and order ID. Without this information, we will not be able to cancel your order in time.
If your order has been shipped you may return it for a refund.Please read our Return Policy to ensure your return can be handled as quick as possible.
If I'm not happy with my item, can I return it for a refund?
Yes, of course. If you are not satisfied with an item, you can simply return it and we will gladly refund you the purchase price.

How do I return an item?
To ensure you get your refund or replacement as soon as possible and at the lowest cost, please return the item directly to Gigatent. Please email Gigatent's office prior to returning an item to obtain an Authorization number.
All items must be returned in the original package. When returning an item, you are responsible for the return shipping costs. If you return an item for a refund, don't forget to contact us as well at customerservice@familytentsworld.com, since it's Family Tents World.com who will issue your refund.

My item arrived damaged. What to do?
Simply follow the instructions above how to return an item. Please state that the item arrived damaged, describe the damage and state whether you wish a replacement or refund. For more detailed instructions, please read our Return Policy.

Do your products come with a warranty?
Yes. All our products come with a warranty of three years that warrants that your products are free from defects in material and workmanship. The natural breakdown of materials that occurs inevitably with extended use, or defects caused by accident, abuse, alteration, animal attack, storm damage, misuse or improper care are not covered under the warranty.

How can I obtain warranty service?
Return the product, freight prepaid, to the Gigatent Customer Service Department. For return authorization e-mail Gigatents’ office prior to returning the item and obtain an Authorization number. Collect shipments or shipments without return authorization will not be accepted.

Which warranty services do you offer?
If after inspection Gigatent finds that a product failed due to a manufacturing or material defect, they will repair or replace the product without charge.

What to do if my product needs repairs?
If your product needs service or repair, Gigatent will provide the necessary service for a reasonable charge plus shipping and handling costs. Please send your product or component that requires repair, postage prepaid, and kindly include a description of what needs attention.
When you place an order, you will be asked to provide your name and shipping address so that your order can be delivered. You will also be asked to provide an email address so that we can inform you about the process of your order. When checking out, you will be prompted to enter your payment details on the PayPal payment site. FamilyTentsWorld.com will never see your payment information.

Do you share my data?
Since we have your purchase shipped to you directly from the manufacturer (Gigatent), we are required to provide them with your name and shipping address. FamilyTentsWorld.com will never sell, rent or distribute your email address, shipping address or contact details to any other company or organization.

Do you store my details?
When you place an order, we add your name and email address to our client database. We will only use it to periodically inform you about products you might be interested in, special offers or sales, or company news. We will never spam you or share your information with any third party.

Can I have my details removed from your client database?
Yes. If you wish to not receive further communication from FamilyTentsWorld.com, or to be removed from our client database, simply send an email to customerservice@familytentsworld.com and request to be removed from our mailing list and/or client database. We will then remove your name and contact details.

Which forms of payment do you accept?
At this point of time, we are only able to accept payments via PayPal. This includes MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discovery credit cards. Debit cards are accepted via PayPal if they carry the MasterCard or Visa logo. You can also use your bank account to make payments via PayPal. If you do not yet have a PayPal account, you can sign up for one here. It's quick and easy and absolutely free.
